Several people have asked me this week what the "hilarious bet" between me and Rochelle was. It's good; it's evil; and -- it'll do the trick.
See, satisfaction of a job well done and the pleasure of our own successes is simply not enough to motivate these two bee-atches (and our masochistic bee-atch friends). Noooo. We need something more, something clever, something... bad, bad, bad, BAD. This is where Rochelle enters the picture (heh-heh). My little red-headed, overachieving friend (there IS a reason we are friends, after all) just couldn't leave well enough alone. She had to up the ante. Hence the bet.
This is it: she who writes the most words wins. Loooozers must wear HIDEOUS Christmas sweaters one day in December (on a SCHOOL day, people! No cheating here!). Losers must take pictures, endure points, giggles, and continual harassment, and refer to WINNER as "QUEEN OF ALL THINGS DISSERTATION" for one week. A LOT. On his/her BLOG, in person, on the phone -- whatever. Get it?
Sounds easy, does it? Hm. Clearly you have no idea what we mean when we say hideous Christmas sweaters do you? We're talking bells, removable stockings, jolly St Nick, Reindeer, silky presents with real bows - a kitten here or there.
You get it -- right? No? Well, perhaps this picture will convince you:
Classy, huh? But, still you say - not bad enough to make YOU write? Well -- you are clearly in need of psychiatric treatment, AND another picture:(ummm -- apparently this one is sooo very bad - yep --- the Internet cannot publish it... but trust me; it is bad -- really, really, REALLY bad: think Americana Christmas with angels, and Santa, and red, white, and blue)... no! WAIT!! I am blogging genius (and future "QUEEN OF ALL THINGS DISSERTATION").
Rochelle, I'm afraid this sweater is in your future (excuse the snarky -- bets bring out the worst in me)...
Read back a few posts, take a deep breath, and join us in the writing contest -- FROM HELL!!!!!!!!!!!! (cue spooky music and evil laugh here)
It's nearly Halloween, and yet we're talking Christmas. You KNEW it had to be scary, right dear WWW?

But, you'll make them look beautiful. (hint, hint)
I like the bet and will be sure to bring my camera on the day of the offensive sweaters.
I am doing Nanowrimo again, this time an academic murder mystery called "Publish or Perish."
